Foluké Cultural Arts Center was Organized as a faith-based initiative in 2002 at Lane Metropolitan CME Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Which later became a community based non-profit organization in Feb 2003.
Sharyse N. Jones
Sharyse N. Jones has over 20 years of experience overseeing mentoring, behavioral health, academic and social enrichment programs for disadvantaged youth, young adults and families. Ms. Jones is also experienced in providing crisis intervention to persons living with domestic violence, mental health and substance use disorders in residential settings as well as in the community at large. Ms. Jones has been passionate about helping youth find their way in the world since she was a teenager herself, growing up in East Cleveland. As a student at Shaw High School, her initial community experience working with youth was as a peer counselor in her high school’s Peer to Peer program.
After high school, she went on to attend Xavier University of Louisiana where she continued her dedication to youth by serving as a volunteer tutor for high school students at a neighborhood community center in New Orleans. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and went on to find a career in the social services field. In her professional career, Ms. Jones has continued to develop her interest in fostering the pursuit of higher education and the realization of full potential in transitional youth who may have been convinced that due to their socioeconomic background, race, foster care status, or any other distinguishing demographic characteristics that such endeavors would be too difficult to pursue. During her tenure as Manager of Prevention and Adolescent Treatment Services for Recovery Resources, Ms. Jones was able to return to her alma mater, Shaw High School, to establish an Adolescent Steering Committee to increase coordination of new and existing social services available to the student population. Currently, Ms. Jones is the Program Manager for the Human Services Degree Program at Cuyahoga Community College. In addition, Ms. Jones continues her dedication to higher education and leadership as an active member of the graduate community of the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program (NLDP), the Treasurer & Program Committee Chair for the African-American Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), the secretary of the CWRU Mandel School Alumni Board and President of the Executive Board of Foluke Cultural Arts Center. Ms. Jones is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) who graduated from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences with a Master of Science in Social Administration.
Siobhan Dupree
Her strong beliefs in economic development landed her a role in the financial arena helping small business owners sustain and grow their businesses. Eventually, Siobhan returned to the nonprofit world to serve those with health disparities. Siobhan has a strong social service focus and is compelled to advocate for individuals under the most challenging circumstances. Siobhan is looking forward to serving as a board member with Foluke Cultural Arts Center Inc.
Arnetta L. Matthews
Arnetta L. Matthews, Manager of Education and Outreach at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, is an independently licensed clinical counselor with over ten years of experience providing mental health and addiction services. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Hampton University and her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from John Carroll University. Arnetta has facilitated numerous educational programs for the community and business professionals on various topics including sexual violence, addiction prevention and treatment, mental health issues, parenting, and issues facing adolescents.
Jessica Cheng
Jessica Cheng, a counselor at Signature Health, is a Licensed Social Worker with the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board in the state of Ohio. She received her undergraduate degree in Health and Humanities with an International Social Justice minor at the University of Southern California, then went on to complete her Master’s in Social Work at the Mandel School of Applied Sciences.
She has always been passionate about purposeful work with disadvantaged youth and minorities. Jessica served as a high school teacher in an area of high need and continues to work with disenfranchised populations. As a counselor, she has brought therapeutic groups for individuals who have experience with intimate partner violence. She continues to be an advocate for mental health services and creating educational diverse opportunities for youth.
Lisanetta McDade
Lisanetta McDade is a dedicated professional with a robust background in higher education and community engagement. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business Science and a Master of Public Administration, both from Indiana Wesleyan University, Lisanetta has honed her expertise through 15 years of diverse roles within academia.
Currently serving as the Campus Community Liaison at Cuyahoga Community College, Lisanetta thrives on building bridges between the college and its surrounding communities. With a passion for cultivating meaningful connections, she spearheads the planning, organization, and execution of events that not only enrich the college experience but also benefit the broader community.
Beyond her professional commitments, Lisanetta is deeply committed to volunteerism, particularly in mentorship programs aimed at empowering underserved students. Her dedication to uplifting lives extends beyond the workplace, reflecting her genuine desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Her passion for reading and life-long learning fuels her curiosity and broadens her perspectives, enriching both her personal and professional endeavors. She is passionate about her community and is one of the founding members of the Central Kinsman Wellness Collective, Executive Committee member, Minority Health Alliance, CollegeNow mentor and Foluke Cultural Arts Board Member.
Lisanetta resides in Cleveland, Ohio, with her husband, three children, and two beloved fur companions, Cookie and Cocoa, Lisanetta finds joy in creating lasting memories through her entrepreneurial pursuits as the owner of Legacy Events and Planning LLC. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellence, she creates unforgettable experiences that leave lasting memories to her clients and their guests.
Meadow Walker
Meadow Walker worked with community agencies and faith communities with the purpose to educate and help meet the needs of the community since a young adult. Meadow had been a very active pastor’s wife for 36 years. Meadow has eighteen years of counseling experience working with co-occurring clients to help them explore and process their disease of addiction and mental health issues holistically. Meadow retired on March 8, 2021 from Centerstone Bradenton, FL. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in Counseling – Emphasis: Professional Mental Health Counseling, Mastered Certification Addiction Professional (MCAP) license, and International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICRC-ADC) license.
Gwendolyn Garth
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in 4 Cleveland neighborhoods Hough, Central, Fairfax and Glenville. She is a multimedia artist, Creative Arts Therapy Specialist and Community Activist. Her favorite medium is the pencil, presently Creative Art Journaling has become my mode of artistic expression; recording her thoughts through art and writing.
Her work explores a new form of artistic expression that questions the canon of art history’s conventional attitudes towards art making. Her Art investigates the unlimited possibilities of art making by combining multiple mediums.
